- 01.03.99: The Signal Transduction Society Website (www.sigtrans.de) is made publicly avaliable on the World Wide Web. Preparations for the online processing of membership applications and other data related the the 3rd Joint Meeting in December 1999 begin.
In the following months, cbmd develops various so-called "back-end applications" for the STS website, including an online membership database that faciliates administration.
- January 99: In late December 1998, the STS decides to establish a presence in the world wide web. cb media design, the Kassel-based new media company, has been selected to plan, design and maintain this site. First prototypes are presented in February.
