The ForumWelcome to the forum! The idea of this forum is to provide a place to exchange messages with the other users of this site - kind of like a pinboard on the fridge or a bulletin board. Use it any way you see fit: for example you might want to discuss questions about methods or simply leave a link to your lab's homepage. The forum is open to all visitors of this site. Simply use the posting page to compose a message. Please check out the online help, if this is your first time around. 13 Postings so far:

STS Forum HelpGeneralThe messages you send to this forum can be reviewed by other users. If you asked a question or someone wants to comment on your posting, it is easy to "reply" to a message (this reply is also called a "followup"). Followups are "threaded" to the original posting, so it is easy to keep track, even if someone comments on a followup to a followup. Once the first followup to your posting appears, you might want to check back and reply to these followups. Please note that we will erase any inappropriate postings. If your posting has been removed, you will be notified that we did so and why we did so. If you continue to post offensive material, we will be forced to ban your IP. PostingUse the posting form to compose your message. You need to fill out the necessary fields (dark gray background), before your message is accepted. If you want, you can add a link to go with your message. To do so please enter the URL in the field WWW Link and provide a short description of where this link leads to in field Link Description. This link description is displayed next to your name and hyperlinked to the URL you entered. To include a picture, just enter the complete URL that leads to the image in the field Image Souce. In case you want to link to an image on a webserver and you do not know the exact URL of the image, simply open another browser window, locate the image, right-click on the image and select Copy Image Location from the context menu. Go back to the message form and paste the URL into the field. If you have any further questions or made some mistake and want your posting erased, please contact the webmaster. FollowupsFirst of all, click on the message you want to reply to. This can be the original message (the one that started the thread) or any reply to this message. When this message is displayed, click on "Post Reply" to compose your message. The text of the original message will be displayed in a textfield with an ">" in front, please delete text that you are not referring to - It is more or less the same as with a reply in your eMail program. Just fill out the other necessary fields and your message will be accepted and posted. |
